How Not to Lose Your Difference, Ephesians 4-5 | Pastor Doug Olsen

Our Christian liberty is often a topic of great dispute and personal opinion. However, in 1 Cor 8-10, Paul uses a cultural illustration that offers 5 key life principles for making decisions in this area of our Christian liberty in regard to actions and behaviors. The sermon will work through the cultural illustration and mine out these key principles.
1. How do we lose our difference (Ephesians 4:17-19)
   
a. Darkened in our understanding (v. 17)
   
 b. Separated from God (v. 18a)
   
c. Hardness of heart / loss of sensitivity (v. 19a)
   
d. Given up to sensuality (vs. 19b)
 
2. How do we make the right decisions? (1 Corinthian 6-10)
   
a. Does the word of God address the issue? (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)
   
 b. How does it affect my fellow believer? (1 Corinthians 8:9-13)
   
 c. How will the decision affect non-believers? (1 Corinthians 10:32-33)
   
d. Will this decision master me? (1 Corinthians 6:12)
   
e. Will it bring glory to God? (1 Corinthians 10:31)
3. How do we stay different? (Ephesians 5:1-14)
a. What to do (vs. 1-2)
b. What not to do (vs. 3-4)
c. Who not to partner with (vs. 7-11)
