On Friday, September 29th, 2017, The Washington Center hosted the first Alan K. Simpson-Norman Y. Mineta Leaders Series (SMLS) of the Fall 2017 term.
The panel featured Douglas Blackmon, a journalist and Pulitzer Prize-winning author; Dr. Greg Carr, an associate professor and chair of Afro-American Studies at Howard University, and was moderated by Steve Scully, a senior executive producer at C-SPAN.
