Life is full of uncertainty and we are better off learning to embrace it, or so we are told. But why do some of us struggle to overcome the anxiety about uncertainty? Clinical psychologist Jessamine Chen explores why we are often stuck in a cycle of uncertainty anxiety: because we are influenced by biases in the way we think about and pay attention to uncertainty.
Jessamine Chen is a Clinical Psychologist and the Head of the WSLHD Anxiety Treatment and Research Unit, one of the few specialist anxiety treatment services in NSW Health. She uses her platform as a clinician and a researcher to promote outstanding quality anxiety treatment in the public health system, as well as training the next generation of clinicians. She believes strongly that evidence-based treatment and compassion are the keys to helping people overcome their anxiety.
