Task-Technology Fit
Task-Technology Fit is a powerful theory that helps us to explain the dynamics behind the tech industry and its continuous drive to innovate.
Task-Technology Fit has four constructs: (i) The Task Characteristics, which have an impact on Performance Impacts; and (ii) Technology Characteristics, which have an impact on Utilisation.
What this means is that for any given task, the task itself has characteristics. Similarly, every existing technology has characteristics as well. In some cases, the characteristics of technology, might better suit the characteristics of the task. Hence, task-technology fit. If they do match, a person is more likely to utilise the technology and it will have a greater performance impacts.
