If we were to count all of the models on the international markets and their additional modifications, all-in-all Volkswagen’s lineup will be adding 34 newcomers. This number is somewhat overbloated, but we can assure you that the 10 models that we are about to present to you are indeed all-new or at least significantly facelifted for 2021. #1 2022 Volkswagen Taos
Based on the Chinese Tharu, the 2022 Volkswagen Taos was developed specifically for the North and South American markets to occupy the entry-level position in the brand’s lineup. The model shares its main exterior cues with its older siblings, gets LED lighting, and offers 4 wheel designs, ranging from 17 to 19 inches in diameter.
#2 2021 GTI Clubsport and Golf R
The 8th Generation of Golf spawns two legitimate hot hatchbacks that can put to road at least 300 horsepower. The most significant introduction is the flagship VW Golf R 8, that will be making a return to the US shores.
#3 2021 VW ID4
The I.D.4 marks the company’s entry into the fight for a piece of the all-electric crossover pie. Built on the new MEB platform, this model will be the company’s global offering, which means that will slowly but surely arrive to all of the VW’s core markets.
#4 2021.5 VW Atlas
After three years of production, 2021.5 VW Atlas arrives with a refreshed exterior and becomes three inches longer due to a new front-end. Inspired by its Cross Sport five-seater variant, the revised Atlas boasts a similar three-bar grille, rounder LED headlamps and lower-sitting air intakes.
#5 2021 VW Tiguan & Tiguan R & Tiguan eHybrid
The most successful crossover from Europe is not trying its luck with a major redesign this year and instead follows the already proven formula. Besides a minor facelift, the Tiguan gets two new variants labeled the Tiguan R and e-Hybrid.
#6 2021 VW Golf eHybrid & GTE
A huge variety of 8th generation Golf powertrains is being expanded once again, since the hatch adds two plug-in hybrid models, labeled eHybrid and GTE. Both boast a similar PHEV setup built around a 1.4L TSI engine and a 13kWh battery pack.
#7 2021 VW Touareg eHybrid & Touareg R
As an essential part of the VW hybrid offensive, they drop two plugin versions of the Tuareg, which not only introduce zero emissions driving and low average fuel consumption, but also raise the performance bar for this SUV.
#8 2021 VW Nivus
The MQB-A0 platform makes Nivus the elder brother of the 6th generation Polo, but the all-new compact crossover is bigger both in length and width, and has unique exterior cues. VW's first coupe SUV has a sloping roofline, coupe-style proportions and a more rugged appearance due to wide grille and standard side cladding.
#9 2021 VW Arteon & Arteon Shooting Brake
Along with the facelift, the best-looking Volkswagen of today, the Arteon, is expanding its single liftback form factor with a shooting brake body style, and also adds a plugin hybrid powertrain and a sporty R modification.
#10 2021 VW ID3
After overcoming the software issues that were plaguing the First edition trim, VW are ready to start rolling off the production lines the rest of the 7 pre-configured variants of the ID.3.
