T.W. Bankston - You Are The Icing On My Cake (1989)

This upload is dedicated to the memory of T.W. Bankston (January 26, 1948 - December 24, 2017), who left us way too soon.

This was his most well-known song, arranged and produced by soul-legend Ronnie McNeir (who's a member and musical director of the legendary Four Tops since the early 2000s for live-shows) and co-written by soul-artist Herman George ("Mental High", "What Have You Got?").

It even got some airplay in the UK on local radio-stations.

This song was originally released on 7" by T.W. Bankston on his own label "Straight Up Records Inc." in circa 1988/'89, then it was re-issued on UK-based label "Baseline Records", which was specialized in rereleasing little known and rare Funk- and Soul-records.

Side-note: The correct song-title is "You Are The Icing On MY Cake", not "You Are The Icing On THE Cake"! As it stands on T.W. Bankston's original 45 release of his own label "Straight Up Records Inc.".
