Caution on Concussions
Dr. Gail Rosseau, CINN neurosurgeon, discusses the rising concern for concussions caused as a result of participation in youth sports. Experts say concussions have grown from 300,000 incidents 10 years ago to upwards of three million cases in the U.S. last year. Dr. Rosseau and all CINN neurosurgeons are urging parents, coaches, athletic trainers and athletic supporters to become more familiar with the subtle signs and symptoms of concussions, which may not present for up to 72 hours after a hit. For more information on the signs and symptoms of concussion or to order a free concussion wallet card, please visit www.cinn.org and click on Ahead of the Game.
