Water Slide Pump Exercising

In this video, I'll be talking about exercising the motors and pumps for a slide tower. On this particular tower, I have 5 slides, one of which requires two pumps. The pool and connecting surge-pit contain approximately 170,000 gallons. Since we are an outdoor facility, during the offseason we typically reduce pool volume and reduce filtering and chemicals. As a preventative, I'm exercising all the systems at full speed, including chemicals, filters, and slide motors. This will ensure a proper startup in the spring. My other pools are currently drained, and will probably keep this pool full for the remainder of the off-season. Might be a good pool to train new operators and pool mechanics on.

The motors are 40hp Tech Top, 3ph-480v, being powered by Mitsubishi VFD's. As I say in the video, we have throttled down the pumps using mainly the VFDs, but occasionally we use the valves to accomplish the correct water flow.
