While editing this video I realize how scattered I still am since I've never shared this story in detail to anyone. I didn't realize how important it is to share your rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment or unconsensual touching of any time with people. I made the mistake of telling my story to the one person who wanted to back up my assaulter, since then I found a way to make jokes about it, take full responsibility and let him get away with it. It wasn't until a more recent sexual assault at the Team 10 house that I realized there are many people in the world who are rape apologists and side with the accused for no other reason than that they just don't want to believe it.
I am trying to be better and speak my truth more to inspire others to do the same. Make sure to check yourself whenever you read about celebrities you like that have a past of assault, when you hear of a mutual friend who has a story about someone you know, or even when a friend/family member tells you a story of their own. There is no excuse. Speak up, believe your friends, listen and learn. Just because someone doesnt say "no" doesnt mean they said yes. You never know, your assaulter may just agree with you like mine did.
