Hans Rosling Public Lecture in Tbilisi, Georgia

Swedish academic and statistician, the co-founder of Gapminder Foundation, Hans Rosling of Karolinska Institutet speaking in Tbilisi, Georgia on June 25, 2014

The public lecture focused on the population growth around the globe, the importance of gender equality and access to medical care. Mr. Rosling made a particular emphasis on the importance of investing in development and empowerment of young people for ensuring the country's sustainable development. The lecture provided forum for policy makers from different sectors, professionals, students and other interested parties to visualize the evidences and experience and reflect them in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies and programmes related to population and development.

The event was organized by the United Nations Population Fund in Georgia and the Georgian Parliament's Gender Equality Council within the framework of UN Joint Programme "To Enhance Gender Equality in Georgia" through a generous support from the Swedish Government.
