'The Queen Marks A 'Quiet' 95th Birthday Without the Duke of Edinburgh'

Queen Elizabeth II is observing her 95th birthday, albeit an out-of-the-ordinary occasion in most ways.

Her Majesty is still in official royal mourning for her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, and the 41-gun and 21-gun salutes, traditionally fired in Hyde Park and the Tower of London, have been cancelled for a second year running.

Buckingham Palace is also not expected to issue any official photographs and the Queen is said to be spending the day quietly.
