William & Kate - The Royal Couple South Seas Tour 2012 Part 1 HD

As part of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee, Prince William and Duchess Catherine (Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) embarked on a tour of Singapore, Malaysia, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.

Mary Nightingale travelled with the Royal Couple as they carried out the Asia-Pacific leg of the Diamond Jubilee tour and reflected on a very modern couple.

The Duke and Duchess kickstart their tour in Singapore. There they visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens to witness an orchid naming ceremony. A white orchid had been named after the late Princess Diana but she died two weeks before she was due for the ceremony. They also see a new orchid breed that had been bred specially for them. They are also the guests-of-honour at Rolls Royce plant.

Mary Nightingale also interviews Thomas Pung who hosted Queen Elizabeth in 1972 and 2006.
