2019 Kia Optima First Drive Review: Kia's Midsize Sedan Stung With Stinger DNA

For 2019, Kia has mildly updated the Optima with revised front and rear fascias, some interior tweaks, and one of the best standard safety suites in the class. Pricing has not yet been announced, but all 2019 Optima models will come standard with blind-spot warning, park distance warning, forward collision warning, forward collision avoidance assist, lane change assist, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning. We drive the SX trim with the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder producing 245 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Kia has injected some Stinger DNA into its affordable mid-size to help it stay competitive in this crowded segment.
