DC United vs. Toluca/Vasco da Gama - Campeón de CONCACAF + America - 1998

The best MLS squad/team to date in MLS's history, the 1998 D.C. United side lead by Marco Antonio Etcheverry and Jaime Moreno defeated Toluca of Mexico to win the 1998 CONCACAF Champions Cup and became the first American squad to win the event. From there, they defeated Vasco da Gama from Brazil in the final of the last InterAmerican Cup that saw the CONCACAF Champion face the CONEMBOL/Copa Libertadores Champion in two games.

16 de Agosto 1998. Washington D.C. United gano la Copa de Campones de la CONCACAF al derrotar Toluca de Mexico en el Estadio RFK en Washington D.C, 1-0, con gol de Eddie Pope.

5 Diciembre 1998. Washington D.C. United le gano al Vasco de Gama de Brasil en la final de la ultima Copa Interamericana con un global de 2-1. Vasco gano el partido de Ida, 1-0. DC United gano el partido de Vuelta, 2-0.
