#Appalachianstories - I found a true crime story to this grave stone I found at my family’s cabin

The cabin has seen many generations of my family. It was said to have been built in the 1700s. One side to our family was the Williams family, they are buried in a family grave on a hill above the cabin. I was doing some ancestry digging and found out that Henry N. Williams , the person the grave stone at the cabin belongs to had a son who was being investigated in 1857 for unaliving his family. Upon digging further it turns out he had a mistress and the mistress told him to choose her or his kids and that was the reason why he chose to do what he did.
