FACT/S - Matangi from MOANA 2 could be the next great Disney villain! And here's why.
She has a cape that turns into a living cloak of bats – talk about spooky! She definitely fits in with iconic villains like Maleficent and Jafar. Plus, we might get an epic villain song, similar to Tamatoa’s shiny number in the first movie.
Matangi’s powers? She commands bats and might even transform into them! There’s one scene where she’s covered in bats in front of what seems like a giant pearl. Also, there’s a cool shot of her hanging upside down like a bat right before she faces off with Moana.
There's a theory going around that Matangi has a secret connection to Maui. Could they be siblings or cousins or even ex lovers? There’s a scene where Maui seems trapped in a cave with a giant pearl, and Matangi taunts him, implying Moana’s wayfinding skills are a big threat.
