Public servants slammed for work from home surge

Herald Sun business commentator Terry McCrann says the public service is “all benefit and no responsibility”.

The number of public servants in Australia has more than doubled since before the pandemic in 2020.

Almost 40 per cent – or 180,000 public servants – work two to three days a week remotely.

“What you’re seeing playing out is exactly that – that they don’t have that momentum ... that they’ve got to actually perform,” Mr McCrann told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“This is the outcome and the bill is extraordinary.”
