Step 1.) Look for the signs. This could be pop ups, random apps opening, or receiving messages out of the blue.

Step 2.) Acknowledge if you’ve visited any risky websites lately. These could be torrent, pirating, or free game websites. If you have, check your browser downloads for any suspicious files. Delete any if found.

3.) Check your applications list for unwanted or suspicious apps. Keep in mind, these apps could be hidden (no name or image), so make sure you check the bottom of the list. If you find any, force stop and uninstall it. If you can’t, go to administer settings, and switch the apps privileges off. This should allow you to uninstall it.

4.) Enter safe mode. You may have to look up how to enter this mode on your own phone model, for my case, I have to hold down my power button to get the power off settings. I then have to hold down power off, which brings up safe mode. Once you’ve entered it, see if you have the problems you had before. If you don’t, it’s an application or file, so no factory reset needed. Make sure you look through your downloads and applications to root out your issue.

5.) If you still are having issues IN SAFE MODE, find the factory reset option and preform it. This will wipe all applications off of your phone, and has the highest chance of eradicating your malware.
