Summary: Spent this Monday live stream cutting through the chaos of AI website builders — because the question I keep getting asked is "how do I build a website with AI?" and the honest answer is: it depends entirely on what you're actually trying to build. There's a massive difference between a website and a web app, and if you don't know which one you need, you'll waste a lot of time building something Google can't even see. Tools like Lovable and Bolt are brilliant, but they're vibe coding tools for web apps — and that client-side rendering is exactly why your blog posts won't show up in search results.
We went through the full toolkit — from old-school builders like Wix and Squarespace (still perfectly valid, don't sleep on them), through the new wave of vibe coding tools, all the way to the more powerful end with Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex. The right tool really does depend on your technical level, your timeline, and what you're actually building. Lovable is fantastic for prototyping and getting something in front of real people fast — just don't expect Google to find it. If it gets traction, then you take it to Claude Code and scale from there. Start scrappy, validate fast, polish later.
