Traveller RPG’s 3rd Imperium setting: more relevant than ever

When you first learn about the Original Traveller Universe, The Third Imperium sounds all kind of saucy. It puts on airs in your imagination, but soon the Metal Mullet becomes a business suit the more you learn.

The music and the clips here (besides Harlock, The Star Destroyer, and Wing Commander) are licenced under Creative Commons. I'm pretty sure the Harlock clip is fair use; but at the moment it doesn't make sense to push my luck and dispute (Harlock is claiming) and label the whole video as CC via YouTube. That said, I'm declaring here in the description that this video is CC insofar as my own content. Apologies to the CC creators who are under SA and the muddy waters this creates...I am a critic of other media and it's rough waters. If you would like me to remove your content for not strictly cleaving to the CC-SA stuff, I understand, please message me and I'll remove your music/video.

But...I put it to you, the Third Imperium may be the harder-working, less glamorous of the pillars of OTU as a setting, but it is eminently metal, because it is what makes OTU an 'othernow' that is so like our own present. More overproduced Nerdwriteresque dialogue within on your tabletop hobby~

I will be returning to Hârn for my next videoessay. We also need to do the Emelrene review, and I would also like to chime in with a theorycraft video before the month is out.

The channel has really put down roots and gained depth of content in several areas it didn't have before. I really appreciate all the positive feedback over the month of November, and the amount of sustained day-to-day watch time for the CGA has never been more steady.

So if you love the channel, subscriber growth and the better quality videos it can create (by getting us to the point where a patreon makes launch makes sense (which could pay for a DSLR and updated editing sofware) is something everyone can take part in. My videos range across a gamut of topics in Tabletop Roleplaying, and that gamut will vary even more widely as the channel mature. I don't know all the places and communities in the internet where my work might be useful or provocative to people, so if you do~~share the video that you think a community would find most interesting.
