TWO RAREST PS2 GAMES AT A JAPANESE HARD OFF THRIFT STORE IN TOKYO
I headed to another Hard off in the north side of Tokyo where I found two of the rarest ps2 games at this Japanese thrift store. It is divided in two sections, one for games and the other for figures.
While browsing through the different alleys, I found 2 super rare video games: Kuon and Rule of Rose on PS2.
Kuon
The game was released in Japan in 2004 and in Europe in 2006. It was made by the company FromSoftware which later created one of the most popular video game: Dark Souls.
Why it is expensive? because of his poor sales outside Japan and limited stocks. Also, many fans want to complete their FromSoftware games collection which is driving the price up.
I found the Japanese version for $70 which sells for $150 online. However, the US version is being sold for nearly $500-800.
Rule of Rose
The game was released in 2006 by Punchline. It had a really bad reputation due to complaints of brutal violence towards kids. It led to PAL copies to be banned which in turn increased the price of US copies.
The version that I found sells for $275 and is being sold online for $500-700.
This store offers plenty of vintage and rare video games as well as consoles such as the Super Famicom, Mega drive, PS version and other electronics.
I went to Hard Off Kokubunji located about 40 minutes from Shinjuku station.
