Clare O’Neil ‘pushing ahead’ with ‘full-throated attack’ on Peter Dutton
Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil is “pushing ahead” with a “full-throated attack” on Opposition Leader Peter Dutton.
Mr Dutton was accused of “protecting offenders” during Question Time after the Opposition failed to back in tough new immigration laws.
The Opposition leader has demanded Labor issue an apology for the comments made.
Mr Clennell says the Home Affairs Minister is still “pushing ahead with preventive detention laws”.
He says the laws will seek to re-detain some of the detainees who have been released by a High Court decision.
