Why Do People Believe The Earth Is Flat?

Theories stating that the earth is flat and disk-like are easily debunked, no matter the amount of seemingly complex pseudoscience and smart sounding words they may use. I'm not debunking the flat earther movement, but instead asking why people believe in something that is so clearly false.
