Compounding turbos increase both Power and Performance. Smaller turbochargers are known for quicker response times and off the line power, but they are limited in the peak power they can produce due to limited air flow. Larger turbochargers can produce massive power, but are slow to respond in the lower RPM ranges. Compounding turbochargers allows for the best of both worlds when the large and small turbochargers can work together, and be utilized more efficiently!
