Los Buzos Run and Gun Tuna/Roosterfish Combo Trip

Here is a taste of what a typical day at Los Buzos can look like when we give the kayaks a break and take out the panga. I love to spend the mornings chasing down tunas with the poppers, getting some in the cooler then going nearshore in search of roosters and cuberas. For Chris, Irving, and Byron it worked out just like that!

The tunas this day were a little hesitant to hit the poppers but sometimes they just require the perfect cast which is not always easy to make. We had several strikes but everyone ended up getting theirs on the troll.

The roosterfish bite has continued to be insane lately. Each week we are averaging over 20 fish caught. The crazy bite is reminding us of another insane year we had about 7 years ago when El Nino hit again. The water is 4-5 degrees warmer than on average and the roosters are loving it.
