What is Airborne and where do we come from?
Envision a future where the use of composites (especially Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer) is the standard, instead of the smart alternative. By using composite material you can create products and components that are lighter, stronger and more durable than steel. Thus helping to create a world much more sustainable and safe.
The challenge
The manufacturing of composites is a complex technology. Today the average costs of light-weight carbon fibre parts is more than 100 euros ($140) per kg. On top of that, carbon fibre doesn’t just require one genius fix to get it into a lower price class, but an entire system overhaul. So why not come up with ways to make the manufacturing of composites faster, easier and more affordable?
