Reducing Industrial Carbon Emissions. Carbon capture, utilization, and storage technologies

🇮🇹 L'UE ha recentemente fissato obiettivi senza precedenti in termini di riduzione delle emissioni (-55% entro il 2030, neutralità climatica entro il 2050). Soluzioni come la cattura, l'utilizzo e lo stoccaggio del carbonio, o "CCUS", implicano la cattura di CO2 da impianti o installazioni industriali, il trasporto in siti designati e l'iniezione in formazioni geologiche, il che lo rende estremamente rilevante per affrontare questa sfida ambiziosa ma necessaria.

Questo webinar ha condiviso alcuni degli ultimi progressi nel campo della CCUS. Il cluster del progetto di ricerca su Better Carbon Capture for Industrial Emissions è formato da tre progetti finanziati dall'UE: CLEANKER, REALIZE CCUS e C4U, e sta portando avanti lo stato dell'arte e riducendo le emissioni degli impianti industriali concentrandosi direttamente su tre diversi settori: cemento, raffinerie e siderurgia.

🇬🇧 The EU recently set unprecedented goals in terms of reducing emissions (-55% by 2030, climate neutrality by 2050). Solutions such as carbon capture, utilization and storage, or “CCUS”, involve capturing CO2 from industrial plants or installations, transporting it to designated sites, and injecting it into geological formations, making it extremely relevant to face this ambitious, but necessary challenge.

This webinar shared some the latest advances in CCUS. The research project cluster on Better Carbon Capture for Industrial Emissions is formed by three EU-funded projects: CLEANKER, REALISE CCUS, and C4U, and are advancing the state of the art and reducing emissions from industrial plants directly focussing on three different sectors: cement, refineries and steel.
