Sandvik DT922i Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd Site in Rishikesh, India | Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology

The first DT922i tunnelling jumbo from Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology India was recently commissioned at one of the most prestigious tunneling projects of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) at Rishikesh, awarded to APCO Infratech Pvt Ltd.

This marks the beginning of an era, that of computer-controlled tunneling in India, as this machine is fully automated and includes Sandvik’s intelligent iSURE® and GeoSURE® patented software for underground rock excavation, making the tunnelling safer and more productive.

The customer acknowledged that Sandvik DT922i is doing wonders in terms of productivity, efficiency and enhancing the safety at site as this first machine has completed its task of ADIT-2 much ahead of schedule.
