Spud Melin and Rich Knerr made FUN! Rich, was our founder, Chuck Knerr's father. Chuck and his sisters are seen in many of these old commercials. Spud and Rich were pioneers in creating TV commercials for toys. They shot their commercials in the Melin's yard, the Knerr's yard, or in local parks. The children are theirs, their employees or kids from the neighborhood.

Spud 'N Rich was founded because kids deserve options for physical play that are more fun than staring at a screen and so well-made, still fun for another generation.

Spud 'N Rich was named after toy creators Spud Melin and Rich Knerr to inspire more active, imaginative, fun for children and parents.
