One Day in OTAVALO, Ecuador | Day Trip from Quito to The Indigenous Town of Otavalo

This is how we did a fun day trip to OTAVALO from Quito. Otavalo is a unique indigenous town, 2 hours north of Quito with many interesting places to visit around it.

TIP: if you don't have your own transport, contract a taxi from the street for a couple of hours ($7-9/hour, 2021 price) to maximize your day trip and visit several sites around Otavalo (we have the phone number of a good taxi driver, available upon request)

Places we visited in this video:
-Otavalo: an indigenous town with a nice atmosphere, check out the central Plaza del Poncho and in the weekend don't miss the legendary Otavalo market
-Cascada de Peguche: a beautiful waterfall in a lush forested area just outside of Otavalo
-Laguna de Cuicocha: a picturesque lagoon underneath a volcano with two islands in the middle of it, and you can also walk all around the lagoon if you have more time in Otavalo
-Cotacachi: a small town next to Otavalo famous for its leather products, and don't forget to try Carne Colorada, a delicious local dish only found in Cotacachi
