Fundamental Rights

Fundamental Rights are the basic rights guaranteed to every citizen by the Constitution. They are mainly contained in Articles 12 to 35 and protect the freedom and dignity of individuals.

The Six Fundamental Rights
Right to Equality (Articles 14–18) – Ensures equality before the law and prohibits discrimination.
Right to Freedom (Articles 19–22) – Includes freedom of speech, expression, movement, residence, occupation, and protection of life and personal liberty.
Right against Exploitation (Articles 23–24) – Prohibits human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour in hazardous industries.
Right to Freedom of Religion (Articles 25–28) – Guarantees freedom to practise, profess, and propagate any religion.
Cultural and Educational Rights (Articles 29–30) – Protect the rights of minorities to preserve their culture and establish educational
institutions.
Right to Constitutional Remedies (Article 32) – Allows citizens to approach the courts for the protection of their Fundamental Rights. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar called this the "Heart and Soul of the Constitution.
