Inside BASECO BEACH Port Area Manila and Compound - Walking Tour [4K]

Hey everyone, join me as I walk around the Baseco Beach and compound. Just 3 months ago, the beach and baywalk looked completely different. The changes are due to rainy season which I understand is more difficult to maintain, but still not sure if that is the real truth. The baywalk was damaged because of the sea wall being too low, but then again, the esplanade (baywalk) in my opinion was not laid down with good planning. You can see in the video, there was no concrete built into the foundation, just loose bricks on sand? Really? Aside from all of that, my question is, "why focus on some of these projects when the priority should be on the people who live within the Baseco Compound, those are the people who need help, not about the beautification of a baywalk. Why not build a seawall to protect the families who live there from flooding, and then pave their streets with working drains. How about spending money on educational programs for the poor. And housing in their favor which can still allow them to run their existing businesses or start a new one? I understand that the housing project is underway, just not sure if it is for the people and their needs, or if that is the priority versus the baywalk. So much is being spent on trying to make areas look nice (with the least amount of money) without taking care of the real issue, the people and the place where these families live. I believe that if you take care and educate the people, in the long run, the place will naturally look beautiful, and the people will begin to care a lot more. It will take many years for this to happen, but I feel that this is where the investment should be, the people. Your thoughts? Enjoy the video =) *Filmed July 2021.
