LAX Intermodal Transportation Facility West Construction Update Economy Parking
Parking structure is now complete with 4300 stalls including parking for EV charging. The People Mover station is still under construction will a completion date by 2023.
The Intermodal Transportation Facility – West (ITF-West) parking structure & mobility hub will provide travelers with convenient access to LAX without needing to enter the Central Terminal Area. Following construction completion in 2021, a free shuttle will provide direct access to the terminal. In 2023, the ITF-West Parking Structure will be directly connected to the new Automated People Mover (APM) train system via two pedestrian bridges. It will then reach its full vision to create a mobility hub where passengers can be dropped off, picked up, or park and ride the APM directly to the terminals.
Opening in 2021, the Intermodal Transportation Facility - West (ITF-West) will be the first component completed as part of LAX’s $5.5-billion Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP). The LAMP consists of five major components: the Consolidated Rent- A-Car (ConRAC) facility, the Automated People Mover (APM) train system, the ITF-West parking structure, connection to Metro via the future Airport Metro Connector (AMC) Station, and roadway improvements throughout the LAX area.
