How good are studded bike tyres on asphalt? Studded vs non studded - Ice Spiker Pro

I've heard studded tyres have high rolling resistance and poor grip on tarmac. Is that true? Sure, a lot of studded tyres are slow rolling, but is that down to the heavy tyre with large knobs, or is it the studs?

Here I'm testing the Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro against the fairly similar Schwalbe Nobby Nic Performance. Both are 27.5x2.6"
