Welcome to the Renaissance and this hysterical musical farce, Something Rotten! Set in the 1590s, two brothers, Nick and Nigel Bottom, set out to write a hit play but find it hard to break through and compete with the famed Will Shakespeare, known as “The Bard”. The brothers enlist the help of a soothsayer who predicts that the future of theatre involves singing and dancing. Armed with this insider information, they set out to write the world’s first musical. Hilarity ensues as this satirical spectacle pokes fun at everything that audiences adore about a Broadway musical.
