West Africa’s first standard gauge railway line built in Nigeria

Nigeria is constructing West Africa's first standard gauge railway line. On a journey across Nigeria, Ashionye Ogene speaks with Nigeria's Minister of Transportation, the China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) and the architects and engineers behind Nigeria's historic railway modernisation project.
Nigeria’s standard gauge railway line is being designed to eventually run across the entire country, from Lagos to Kano. The first section of the rail line which runs between the capital Abuja and Kaduna was completed in 2014.
Lagos to Ibadan is the third section of the line to be completed after Itakpe to Warri.
