Dead by Death is a modern indie game masterpiece

Dead by Death was a game I first encountered researching games for my top 10 lowest reviewed metroidvanias video... and it was at the bottom, but not nonlinear enough to be called a metroidvania. So I decided to play it separately, start to finish, and this is my experience.
