Calgary’s Proposed City Wide Rezoning | Calgary Housing Strategy | R-CG Zoning Change

In September 2023, the City of Calgary approved its new Housing Strategy. The item that you’ve probably heard the most about is the city-wide rezoning. the way it works is that NO zoning can change without Calgary City Council approval. A public hearing date has been scheduled for April 22, 2024. City Administration will recommend an approach for citywide rezoning to R-CG, R-G, and H-GO. This item will come before council, and there will be one of three outcomes.

Council will vote to either:
- Approve the item, or rezoning
- Make changes to an item and approve the item
- Not be in favour of this item
