Fishrot case crosses over to 2021
Highlights | Seven men charged in the Fishrot and Fishcor cases involving alleged corruption, fraud and money laundering in Namibia's fishing industry appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate's Court again on Monday. The accused include former fisheries minister Bernhard Esau, ex-justice minister Sacky Shanghala, former Investec Asset Management Namibia managing director James Hatuikulipi and his cousin Tamson ‘Fitty’ Hatuikulipi, who is Esau's son-in-law. The others are former Fishcor CEO Mike Nghipunya, a former client manager of Investec Asset Management Namibia, Ricardo Gustavo, and Pius Mwatelulo. The cases have been postponed to 5 February and 22 April 2021, for appearances in the Windhoek Magistrate's Court and the High Court, respectively.
