Concrete Porch Jacking with Spray Foam

Over time it is not uncommon for concrete slabs to sink or settle, especially if poured over an unstable base. Unfortunately, back-fill around a foundation is such a base. Our porch had settled in the back and was allowing rain water to flow to the house and was seeping into the sheathing. It wasn't really noticed until our wood flooring was starting to show signs of moisture infiltration.

I received quotes from a company that does traditional mud-jacking and another that lifts with spray foam. The mud-jacking company's quote was variable based upon how much material was used. I didn't like that unknown so I went with the spray foam company. They give a 5 year warranty so I felt comfortable with its stability. It's nice knowing I don't have to worry about water working its way into the house anymore.
