Paula was nervous the day before her gastric sleeve surgery at LVHN. But she was full of hope. At 206 pounds, she was in constant pain from carrying excess weight on her five foot frame and from sjogren's syndrome, an immune system disorder which caused intense pain in her muscles and joints. She had tried a variety of diets and like many who choose bariatric surgery, defined herself as a yo-yo dieter. This video shows her transformation at intervals throughout her journey.
