As I discussed last year, the brexit customs systems are a ramshackle collection of multiple IT systems bolted together with no coherent strategy. That they would fail the end users, who were barely involved in the process of designing them, was inevitable. Now we've seen cases of lorry drivers and importers being failed by the chaos of our brexit customs procedures.
