Some tips for writing melodies using the pentatonic scale. For inspiration, you can try organizing the scale using a pattern of skips (SK) and steps (ST). SKs and STs can move either ascending (a) or descending (d).

Some of the patterns I use in this video are:

4) SKd-STa
5) SKa-STa-SKd-SKa
