Chris Evert d. Martina Navratilova-1988 Australian Open SF

Having made the final of the Australian Open in every year she played it, Chris counts this semifinal match as special for a number of reasons. Right in the midst of 3 straight-set wins over Navratilova in 4 matches, this victory in the Aussie Open was the most high profile, and earned her the right to play Steffi Graf for the title. And while the Graf match became historical for being the first ever Grand Slam final played "indoors" under a retractable roof, this semi was personally historical for Chris, as it brought her one last appearance in a Grand Slam final, at age 33.
