Better Ken Burns Effect in Video - FCPX Tutorial 2018. While simple and very easy to use, Final Cut Pro’s built-in Ken Burns Effect lacks customization. Using the Transform tool to achieve the Ken Burns effect allows for much better customization, especially when applying it to video. In this tutorial, we’ll go over using the transform tool to create the Ken Burns effect in a video clip. We’ll learn how to add basic motion, add a pause, and move the clip in different directions. We’ll also learn how to turn off the default keyframe smoothing, which can make it look like a drunken sailor is operating the camera.
