曾葉發：當我死時（1975年世界首演實況）

1975年1月14日，中大合唱團於崇基禮拜堂舉行了《中國合唱歌曲音樂會》，當中世界首演了時任指揮、音樂系三年級學生曾葉發的作品《當我死時》。演出之前更邀得歌詞原著作者、時任中大中文系系主任余光中教授朗讀其詩作。

這次演出，開啟了中大合唱團為香港作曲家首演新作的傳統。

On 14 January 1975, the CU Chorus hosted a concert called the "Chinese Choral Music Concert" at the Chung Chi Chapel. The highlight of the event was the world premiere of a captivating piece titled "And When I Die," composed by Richard Tsang, a talented third-year student from the Music Department who also conducted the performance. Before the performance began, Prof. Yu Kwang-chung, an esteemed poet and the head of the Chinese Department at CUHK, was graciously invited to recite his poignant verses.

This marks the initiation of a cherished tradition within the CU Chorus, as they embark on the premiere of groundbreaking compositions by visionary Hong Kong-based composers.
