A Taste of Falconry with a Red Tailed Hawk

I was walking back in the dark after, filming a video and I ran into a guy with a hawk on his arm. I made friends with him and asked him if I could hang out with him and film a video some day. He (Ian) was very enthusiastic about filming a video so we made plans to meet up the next day. We spent much of the weekend hunting with Event Horizon - his Red Tailed Hawk. The conditions were a bit windy which made hunting a little more of a challenge, however, after a few mice and a crayfish, Event caught herself a squirrel. This is a video that includes some facts about falconry and some of the things you would expect while owning a red tailed hawk. Hunting with a hawk is an active art that really gets the heart racing. The cold was messing with my batteries and it got a little tricky toward the end but I still got some good clips. I will have to make another video sometime next year!
