Dead iPad from Indonesia - Sorry, I can't fix this and keep the lights on!

After more attempts with 3u, I was able to get to "Updating NAND Firmware @ 20%" almost consistently. This was with a solid white screen on the iPad and then reboot back to DFU. Also, I was so fixated on demonstrating a power-related fault that I forgot to check for DFU mode FIRST! Enjoy my misery! :-)
