LIVE Rewind : Police stopped me for filming National Guard troops & riot fences at the US Capitol.

Well, this was fun. I mean, I wanted to show you a video about Capitol Hill, starting over at the Marine Barracks 8th & I, passing John Phillips Sousa's house before making my way to Gary Hart's scandal place. I got those filmed and made my way over to Checkpoint Charlie next to the US Capitol when I apparently attracted the interest of the US Capitol Police. You'll see them stop me and question me about what I was doing filming a live Twitter/Periscope of the fence. To be honest, though, these cops were pretty chill. They're nervous, borderline paranoid and they have this old geezer like me in basically an old Army jacket and a ratty baseball cap making films of the fences and gates. Kind of expected to be stopped.

Anyway, here is a look at the US Capitol fence, a few National Guard troops (nothing like it was last week), and a close up of a US Capitol Police car (Ford Hybrid, in case you are wondering--we chatted about that). I've blurred faces in this video to protect the privacy of the police who were just doing their job.

NOTE: DC law allows specifically allows for the filming of police officers. Other states may have other rules so please check before you pull out your camera.
