Stunning Aurora Timelapse Captured Over Australian Antarctic Station

A researcher, named Dave Scott captured this timelapse of a dazzling aurora from Davis Station, the southernmost Australian base in Antarctica. It twisted slowly, increased in intensity, turned green and expanded upwards with such brightness that the bright full moon could not dim it. These auroras form when solar charged particles interact with Earth’s magnetic field and atmosphere.
